For the Time Being

For the Time Being is a lens-based installation where fire becomes image. A single large Fresnel lens captures the light of a live gas flame and projects it onto a wall, creating a vivid, continuously shifting visual experience. The flame’s movement is unpredictable, and the lens magnifies every detail, turning raw firelight into a living projection.

Using only elemental materials, the work reconnects with the origins of photography and visual technology. There are no screens or electronics, only the direct mechanics of optics and light. For the Time Being invites introspection and attunement to the present moment, offering a space for sensory reflection on impermanence and presence.
